Waterford

Waterford is located northwest of Leesburg and south of Lovettsville. It was settled by Quakers in the early 1700's and is one of few National Landmark Villages in the nation. Many of the original structures remained untouched and in disrepair until the 1940's, when members of the community proceeded with revitalization efforts.

Waterford is the kind of community that seems to have been unfazed by the passage of time. The preservation of the original buildings maintains the ambiance of Main Street America. Those interested should take note of the communities old Victorians, colonials and farmhouses. Nearby Village Winery offers seasonal fare and a variety of different wines.

Waterford is home to many equestrian training centers and boarding centers. With the beautiful scenery, who wouldn’t want to go on a trail ride through the woods by the river or just enjoy a beautiful day outside in the equestrian rink.

Car is king. Route 9 connects residents to Route 7.
