The community of Montclair lies just south of Dale City. It underwent heavy development in the 1960’s, however the area’s past goes back a bit further. In earlier times, Montclair’s wooded landscape played host to colonial era horse-rides and civil war activities. In 1964, Powell’s Creek was dammed and Lake Montclair was formed.

Rated #35 Best Place to Live by CNN Money Magazine. At the center of Montclair is the community’s namesake lake. Three beaches are open to the public. Lake Montclair is ideal canoeing or fishing. Weather permitting; there is also a large pavilion at Dolphin Beach where community residents can hold outdoor parties.

Walk, run and bike in peace. Montclair’s wide, side-walked streets are perfect for outdoor pursuits. The community also borders Prince William Forest Park, where residents can take in the serenity of Lake Ridge. Plenty of amenities are located at nearby Lake Montclair and Fortuna Shopping Centers.

Montclair is approximately 25 minutes south of the Capital Beltway, right of I-95. From Montclair, it is a 15-minute drive to Quantico. Route 234 connects to Manassas.
