Bluemont

Bluemont is located about an hour west of Washington, D.C. at the base of Snickers Gap near the Blue Ridge Mountains. Bluemont marked the farthest reach of the rail network that was established in the late 19th century and connected communities with the District. In 1984, Bluemont was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Bluemont is defined by unadulterated views, rolling hills, quiet village streets and country stores. There are several mid-size, community-supported farms that foster neighborly spirits. Vineyards are also included in the mix. The historic district comprises of roughly 60 structures, several of which were built before the Civil War. Everyone turns out for the annual Bluemont Fair.

Bluemont is known for their annual fair held on the third weekend in September, the Bluemont Fair. Crafters, contests, a 10K race and live music are just some of what the Bluemont Fair offers. The different thing about this fair is that it is spread throughout the town of Bluemont so you can enjoy the charm of Bluemont as you walk around the fair.

Route 7 east and west; Snickersville Turnpike runs south to Aldie.
